Re: Sheffield Cottages

By Colin Brandon on 14/03/2014 at 23:54

A great deal of the Sheffield Estate was purchased by the Sargeant family and those cottages were tied to Meeching Court Farm and was always known as ( I think ) Court Farm Cottages. In the 50's etc, there were two elderly gentlemen, Jim and Nobby Ansel living in them. Both had been workers at the farm for Mr Bowles who was himself a lovely gentleman. Old Nobby, as we kids used to affectionately call him, bred rabbits and we would buy ours from him. Good old days.
